Flutter is a subscription box service that sells an assortment of food & beverage products (non-perishables, snacks, instant beverages, spices, condiments, etc) from businesses that are immigrant-owned.
The service supports Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients and believes that no human is illegal on stolen land. Flutter is also partnered with organizations like Global Refuge and Border Angels and is verified by the ACLU.
20% of the profit of each box is used to support a variety of different immigrant-rights groups that support different groups of immigrants with different needs.
The subscription box service’s website can be used for browsing immigrant-owned products and learning about immigrant rights issues. The website can technically be used by anyone as a tool, the user doesn’t need a subscription service to use the platform to gather information. The access to information is not behind a paywall. The platform democratizes access to information.
Flutter aligns itself with the butterfly because butterflies are widely known as symbols of peaceful and natural migration. Butterflies do not obey borders. The monarch butterfly has become a symbol of the Dreamers, or undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children, representing their resilience and the right to move freely, similar to the butterfly’s migration.
Much like immigrants, butterflies generally mind their own business, cause no harm, and actually benefit society, but because of reasons in which they cannot control, people have an irrational fear of them. Flutter deliberately supports the DACA immigration policy for this reason.

Our vendors are incentivized to work with us because we spread the word about their products to broader audiences and support causes that benefit them. At Flutter, one of our purposes is to economically and systemically benefit immigrant business-owners. Small, medium, and large businesses work with Flutter because we take their products and sell them on their behalf at a national scale, ultimately expanding their audiences.
